- What is MailPost?
MailPost is a CGI for Windows 32
bit webservers that emulates cgiemail. MailPost can use either Standard CGI or
Win-CGI. MailPost has been tested with WebSite / WebSite Pro under Windows9x,
NT4, and Windows2000, IIS v2/v3/v4 under NT4, PWS under Windows95, and
Netscape's Enterprise Server v2.
- What does MailPost
do?
MailPost gives a web designer the
ability to process HTML forms and then email the visitor's entries to an email
address. Want to know more? Here's a graphical explanation.
- What can I use MailPost
for?
MailPost can be used for a multitude
of form-to-email solutions. Here
are just a few examples.
- What do I need to be able to
use MailPost?
MailPost works with Windows 32bit
webservers that use either Standard CGI or Win-CGI. If you have a Windows-based
webserver that implements either of these, MailPost should work for you. You
need access to an email server while your webserver is running. Your system
should also have at least 16MB of RAM. MailPost comes with all the software it
needs to process your HTML form and email the message. If you're running your
webserver under Windows95, you may need to use the Win-CGI version of MailPost.
DEC's Alpha is not supported.
- How does MailPost
work?
MailPost has an interface similar to
the UNIX cgiemail program. MailPost uses template files that hold the basic
structure of how an email message will look. Along with template files,
MailPost uses HTML form variables. These variables, if they are defined in the
template file, will be inserted into the email message where they appear.
